Dartmouth Climate Week 2026

The Climate Collaborative is proud to bring the first ever Dartmouth Climate Week to campus this spring. From April 22–29, campus will come together for a dynamic week of vital conversations, research, and calls to action showcasing the breadth of climate work across Dartmouth. Featuring climate activists, student and faculty research, alumni in climate careers, and a keynote from Dr. Ayana Elizabeth Johnson, the week highlights Dartmouth’s leadership and our shared commitment to climate resilience.

Shaping Global Climate Policy

Join the Institute of Arctic Studies, Dickey Center, and Climate Collaborative in Haldeman 41 to learn how three Dartmouth professors, Melody Burkins, Héléne Seroussi, and Erin Mayfield, are helping to shape global climate policy at the highest levels through scholarship.

Running on Native Lands: Dartmouth Earth Day Celebration

Join the Native American Program, Office of Outdoor Programs, Office of Community Relations, and the Climate Collaborative outside the DOC House in Pine Park for an interactive fun run/ walk with Jordan Marie Brings Three White Horses Whetstone, runner, documentary film producer/director and Indigenous activist. The event will begin at 1pm with a blessing and grounding on our responsibility and relationship to the land. Participants are then invited to engage with Pine Park and featured stations while running or walking along an accessible pathway. Event is unticketed and open to the public.

Fairchild Tower Earth Day Celebration

Join the Fairchild Tower Departments in the Fairchild Atrium for the second annual Fairchild Earth Day Celebration! Enjoy food and beverages, take part in a scavenger hunt around the Tower for a chance to win prizes, and support fellow students by giving back. We’ll be collecting nonperishable food donations for the Dartmouth Food Pantry, as well as clean, unwrinkled professional attire for the Dartmouth Free Market Thrift Store to help students prepare for interviews and professional opportunities.

Beginning at 7pm, film screenings from Rising Hearts Stories will be shown at Filene Auditorium (Moore Hall) followed by an audience Q&A featuring Jordan Whetstone and Assistant Professor of Environmental Studies Lydia Jennings, who is featured in one of the films! Event is unticketed and open to the public.

Clean Energy Trends & Careers Lunch

Join the Climate Collaborative and Revers Center for lunch in Irving 375 with Phil Giuidice T’85 to learn about clean energy careers. Phil brings over 50 years of experience in the energy sector as a geologist, executive, entrepreneur, and policy advisor, including roles as Special Assistant to the President for Climate Policy and Massachusetts Energy Commissioner. He currently serves as Board Chair of FirstLight and on the boards of LineVision and several energy innovation organizations, with a career spanning startups, government, and clean energy initiatives.

PFAS and Patient Health: The evidence and what we can do

Join the Community & Family Medicine Grand Rounds In partnership with the Northern New England CO-OP Practice & Community Based Research Network for PFAS and Patient Health: The evidence and what we can do. This session features Dr. Megan Romano and Dr. Christine Gunn, who will discuss emerging evidence around PFAS exposure, patient communication, and community-engaged approaches to environmental health risk. The session is designed to support clinicians, researchers, and community stakeholders in understanding environmental exposures and translating that knowledge into patient care and public health action. Join the Climate Collaborative for a conversation with Dr. Ayana Elizabeth Johnson moderated by Earth Sciences Professor, Erich Osterberg in Wilder Hall 104. Dr. Ayana Elizabeth Johnson is a marine biologist, policy expert, and writer. She is co-founder of the non-profit think tank Urban Ocean Lab, distinguished scholar at Bowdoin College, and author of The New York Times bestseller What If We Get it Right?: Visions of Climate Futures. She is in love with climate solutions. Event is unticketed and open to the public.

Sustainable Innovation: AI, Inclusion & Accessibility from a Youth Perspective

Join the Climate Collaborative for a talk by Rakib Anam, a Bangladeshi-American climate activist working at the intersection of artificial intelligence and sustainability. This interactive talk examines sustainable innovation through the lenses of youth, accessibility, and inclusion. Drawing from his work in climate tech, youth advocacy, and AI for global development, Rakib Anam explores how meaningful innovation is not just about building smarter technology, but about ensuring that technology is accessible, human-centered, and shaped by the communities it aims to serve. The talk is open to the public and will be in Irving 155. Event is unticketed and open to the public.
